Elmer's Glue. Simple, right? Washable and safe for kids. If you're in the States, buying white glue for kids is easy. Here, not so much. I was super excited to finally find one bottle of this type of white glue here. I paid apprx. $5 for it and it's worth every cent.
When I was growing up, I remember that we would let the glue dry on our hands and peel it off.
